On a recent all day school visit in California I had the honor of meeting the student winners of a school-wide writing contest. These exceptional young authors from each grade wrote the winning essays judged by a school panel. On a break between presentations, I was lucky enough to have lunch with these very talented and creative students. They asked me about the writing process and I had chance to read their stories and give them feedback.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently reported data showing kindergarten vaccination rates continue to decline as states make it easier to opt out of school vaccination requirements. Vaccine preventable diseases like measles and whooping cough are rising again too. Scott knows it could get much worse. “In 2021 nearly every single patient I lost to Covid was unvaccinated by choice and every colleague of mine has said the same thing.”
